This approach focuses on the business and customer value of our deliverables. It has been refined across dozens of projects across the globe from small projects with a single team to large, multi-site programs. The underlying assumption is that you ship hardware, software, and customer documentation, so the goal of systems engineering is to ensure:
The goal is not “perfect” systems engineering deliverables…it is clear and concise deliverables that enable the implementation teams to meet those goals.
The overall system is divided into three overlapping areas: 1) Goal and problem formulation, 2) Design planning and technical risk/feasibility planning, and 3) Active Integration Planning.
The initial interaction will likely focus on workshops, which are working sessions focused on a new product development program (we can handle at most two programs at a similar development stage simultaneously, but dedicating a workshop to a single program works better).
After an initial program success through the workshops we can develop a long-term optimization strategy including more process development, training, and developing local workshop facilitators inside your company.
